January 2015 Ipsy: First Impressions!

January Ipsy

Hello Beauties!

My impression of this bag in one word….disappointed! I really loved the idea of Ipsy at first, but I’m slowly realizing that you simply get samples of all of the same types of brands. I’m guessing that I won’t be keeping this bag for much longer, but we will see. Maybe they will wow me this year!

Let’s get started on the products I received this month…

1. Pacifica Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow in Treasure

I may be one of the only ones, but I just can’t fall in love with the Pacifica brand. I know this brand has recently become very popular among lots of bloggers, but none of their products stay on my face. This eyeshadow was no exception. It went on so beautifully, but it didn’t last on eyes at all. Not a cute look…trust me.

2. Malin and Goetz Lip Balm

This is definitely an amazing lip balm. It is extremely nourishing to the lips. It reminds me a lot of my all time favorite..Carmex. The only thing that bothered me about receiving this product is the fact that I already have SOOO many lip balms. I don’t need a new one! 😦

3. Manna Sheer Glo

I’ve actually received this a couple of months a go in a bag. It doesn’t show up on my face at all. I’m tried using this on my lips too for some color and it quickly fades. It’s such a pretty color in the package, but it just doesn’t show up on me.

4. Eco Friendly Good Day Moisturizer

This is a very light moisturizer, which is perfect for the day time. However, I have been having a ridiculous breakout after trying this the past week. I haven’t changed any other things in my skin care, so I really think this is the cause of it. Let’s just say that I NO LONGER want any skincare products.

5. Hilkari Retractable Eyeliner in Storm

I love this color simply because it is a great grey color. I’m not always the biggest fan of putting on dark black on the lower lash line, so this is a great alternative. The only downside is that it is extremely hard to go on my eyes. It swatched beautifully, but it just didn’t last on my eyes.

I’m so sorry to be all depressing in this post. I’m just not impressed with it at all! Please let me know what you’ve thought of January Ipsy bag! If you’ve also already gotten of your ipsy, please let me know why.

Happy Friday!

It’s Time for a Review… Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask

Freeman

‘ello beautiful people! I hope your Friday has been absolutely fabulous! Just giving you warning, I will be doing several reviews of all of my black Friday haul products and some other haul items right before black Friday. Today’s post is all about the Freeman’s Charcoal and Black Sugar Mask. You’ve probably all heard about the infamous Freeman masks, if not then you must live under a rock. Lol, but really!

Let the review begin,

First, let’s talk about the price tag. The full size version of this face mask is ONLY $3.99!! This mask will literally last FOREVER! I got a small sample version for only $1.99 to try and I got 3 uses out of that one package, so you can only imagine the uses you will get out of the full size bottle.

As far as the product, it’s a charcoal and sugar polishing mask so it is very grainy. I haven’t noticed any breakouts or irritations caused by this mask for all of those with sensitive skin. I usually use this at least once a week to get rid of all of that excess dead skin.

The only complaint I have with this product is how hard it is to spread all over your face. All of the grains tend to stick together and become irritating to spread all over your face. In the picture below, you can see exactly what I’m talking about with the grains sticking together.

Freeman Mask

Other than that, this face mask is definitely one that I will be adding to my mask collection. This was my first freeman mask, but I will definitely be picking up others in their collection very soon.

Pick up your own Freeman Charcoal Mask at… Ulta ( THEY ARE BOGO RIGHT NOW! ) or at Amazon .

Have you tried this mask?? What did you think of it? Let me know down below!

It’s time for a review…Lancome Samples!

Lancome Products

Hello Beauties!

I hope you are having a fabulous Tuesday so far! I thought I’d take the time to give you a quick review of some of the Lancome samples I got recently. I will definitely be purchasing at least one of these products in the near future. Let’s jump into the review…

Cils Booster XL Lash Primer

I have seriously become obsessed with this lash primer. It does an AMAZING job at lengthening and separating lashes. This primer in particular has made me start liking some of my other mascaras a little better. For example, I wasn’t a big fan of the Better than Sex Mascara from Too Faced due to the fact that it always clumped my lashes together. When I combine these two products together, then I receive the perfect lashes that are dramatic and gorgeous!! This is definitely one of the products that I will be purchasing in future!

La Base Pro Pore Eraser

As the name suggests, this a pore eraser similar to the Porefessional. Unfortunately, this product did not perform at the level of the porefessional. Due to the price of this product compared to the porefessional, I can definitely say that I will not be repurchasing this product. Too expensive for too bad of results.

La Base Pro Hydra Glow

This product is not the right product for my skin, but I definitely think that it would be working for those with dryer skin. It’s extremely hydrating and has the perfect little glow to it. This product would be absolutely amazing for those with dryer skin. I would definitely suggest it for dry skin types.

Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

This is your typical eye makeup remover. It worked really well getting rid of all of my waterproof mascara and eyeliner. The great thing is that it didn’t irritate my eyes at all. I’ve always had a hard time finding something that didn’t irritate my eyes. The only down side of this product is the fact of the price. I also am not a big fan of the eye makeup removers. I prefer to use my Purity to get rid of my eye makeup remover.

Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

This product has been seriously the love of my life recently. It has worked so well at lightening up my under eye circles. It has also been really well at keeping my under eye area from being puffy and moisturized. It reminds me a lot of my favorite Ole Henrikson Truth Serum, but I’m pretty sure it works faster than the Truth Serum does. I’ve only been using this product for the past 3 weeks and I can already visibly see the difference. I will definitely be purchasing this product in the future! It’s AMAZING!!

Well, that’s a review of all of the awesome samples I got from Lancome. I hope each of you enjoy this little review. I have a really special unboxing post coming for y’all tomorrow, so don’t miss it!

Happy Tuesday!

First Impressions: Jordana Products

Don’t y’all just love finding rare makeup brands in the drugstore? I know I do. I was first introduced to the Jordana line from watching emilynoel83 videos on YouTube. She always talked about how much she loved the lip liners from this line. I had always had such a hard time finding any of their products in the stores. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found a small display of products at my local Walgreens. I thought I had hit the jackpot. Lol. As I mentioned, this wasn’t a overview of the full line at all, so I was limited on the products that I could pick up and try.  Here’s a picture of the items that I was able to find though.

Jordana Review

The biggest pro I have for this line is the fact that their priced are very reasonable. They are comparable to the Wet N’ Wild line, which I love so much. I was able to pick up at least one kind of product they had in the small display. I picked up the Best Lash Extreme Mascara ($2.99),Easy liner Retractable Eyeliner Pencil in Eggplant ($1.99), Moisturizing Twist and Shine Balm Stain in Cranberry Crush ($2.99), and Lipshine Shimmer Glaze Brush on Gloss in Rasberry ($1.99). Now let’s get on to my first impression of them.

Best Extreme Lash Mascara

I am seriously in love with mascara. It added incredible length to my lashes. I literally started putting it on and was in utter amazement. It’s definitely a dryer formula, which is best for my lashes. I also really like the small brush on this mascara. Overall, I would definitely repurchase this product and it has made me want to try other mascaras from this brand.

Easy Liner Retractable Eyeliner Pencil in Eggplant

This is the first eyeliner that I’ve purchased that has been a different color other than brown, black, and gray. I was very nervous about opening this and it being extremely purple, but it wasn’t thank goodness. It looks brown when swatched with just a hint of purple. It looks amazing with my green/blue eyes. As far as the staying power, I did notice that it was sliding a little on my bottom lashes. My top however stayed exactly the same and didn’t collect in the crease of my eye at all. Overall, I would like to purchase other colors, especially with that awesome price tag!

Moisturizing Twist and Shine Balm Stain in Cranberry Crush

I was not near as excited about this product as I was the eye products. The color is an absolutely gorgeous berry color, but it does not hold up at all. It didn’t stain my lips either. I used this lip color for two days and had to reapply it so many times. In my opinion, if you want an actual balm stain then I would suggest the Revlon Colorburst Balms. They are more expensive, but they withstand so much more with much fewer reapplications.

Lipshine Shimmer Glaze Brush on Gloss in Raspberry

This has the be my least favorite of all the products, simply because of the operation of the product. It’s one of those glosses that you have to twist for the gloss to come up. It puts way to much product out for just one twist of the knob. It also seems to take off my lip product underneath the gloss when I apply it. I’m not a fan of this product at all and I would definitely not repurchase this product. I would suggest any of the ELF glosses over this one.

I hoped y’all you enjoyed my first impression of these products. Have y’all tried this line? If so, what products do you like from it?

Happy Sunday!

Transform Your Skin in 7 Days!

I love skincare products. I also am obsessed with the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum. So of course, when I get the email from Sephora about the 7 day skin challenge including this serum… I HAD TO HAVE IT!! Here’s a picture of the box this challenge comes in.
20140722-204610-74770410.jpgThis includes seven days worth of serums and moisturizers for.  Ole actually developed this particular system for all his clients at his skin clinics. His message in the box says that this system will reveal your most healthy, radiant youthful looking complexion in just 7 days.

20140722-204610-74770560.jpgHere’s a picture of the daily regime packets. You can tell which one goes on at each time of the time of the day by the moon or sun symbol. Here’s a look at the daily skincare system..

AM Step 1 : Truth Serum Collagen Booster (Anti-aging Serum)

AM Step 2: Sheer Transformation (Oil Free moisturizer)

PM Step 1: Invigorating Night Treatment (Overnight Resurfacer)

PM Step 2: Sheer Transformation (Oil Free Moisturizer)

I’m so excited to start this whole skin care challenge. I will definitely give a full review on the fulfillment of Ole’s Promise and each product individually. I got this system for free by simply being a Sephora Beauty Insider. I would love if other beauty bloggers picked this up, so we could all join up to see how it each affected our skin. If you do decide to take a part in this challenge, then please comment below. I look forward to seeing my youthful, radiant skin come out!
