20 Beauty Questions Tag!

Hello Beauties!

I hope your Monday has been fabulous! I’m writing this on Sunday night, because I’ll be at training all day Monday. Luckily, I do have FREE WIFI in the hotel!! Yessss!! I have a super fun post for all of you. I haven’t done a tag post in forever, so I thought I’d search through some friend’s blogs and find a fun tag to do. I found this great tag on Plus + Beauty Blog . Katie is a dear friend of mine and I love reading all of her blog posts. I’m very grateful to her friendship. She definitely helped me cope a ton when I was away from all my family. I’m so glad that she only has a few more months until she’s reunited with hers. Okay, sorry for rambling.

Let’s get on with the questions…

1. Do you remember your first makeup item?

I do remember all of my makeup firsts. I’m actually hosting a GIVEAWAY with all of my first makeup items. Be sure to click HERE!!

2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you fit one that fits your specifications?

My perfect mascara is a dryer formula. I like when a mascara fans out my lashes and gives them lots of volume. I have found a mascara like this. It is my Perversion from Urban Decay. This product is my absolute Holy Grail mascara.

3. What Kind of Coverage do you Prefer from Foundation?

I love full coverage foundation. I have lots of acne scars, so I try really hard to cover those up with full coverage foundations. My favorite is Urban Decay’s Naked Foundation. It’s super lightweight, but it has AMAZING coverage.

4. Favorite High End Brand?

I can’t choose between Urban Decay and Lorac. I prefer Urban Decay’s foundation and concealer, but I love Lorac’s shadows.

5. Favorite Drugstore Brand?

Revlon, L’Oreal, and Rimmel.

6. Is there any kind of makeup that you can’t leave your house without?

My no makeup makeup days always consist of only foundation. I know that sounds crazy, but BB creams just don’t work for me.

7. What is your most cherished beauty product?

My Ruby Woo Matte Lipstick by Mac. This was my first ever MAC lipstick. It was given to me by a dear friend of mine and it began my love for REDS!

8. How often do you shop for makeup?

I just got off of a 4 month no buy! Since then, I’ve literally picked up a makeup item every time I leave my house. It’s a problem! Lol.

9. Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?

I typically put myself on a budget. I know how much “free money” that I have each paycheck. I then divide that among makeup and clothes. Although, sometimes exceptions need to be made. 😉

10. What type of product do you by the most?

Lipsticks.

11. Do you avoid certain items in products like parabens or sulfates?

I try to, but I’m not always conscious of ingredients.

12. Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?

I love shopping at Ulta. I prefer it over Sephora, because I shop highend and drugstore all in the same place.

13. Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep to a certain routine?

My skin is very sensitive, so I have to stick to a certain routine. The slightest change of products can cause me to have a major break out.

14. Favorite Bath and Body Brand?

Bath and Body Works.

15. Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?

I love using multifunctional products, but I don’t like stains at all. I don’t mind using cream blushes as lip products, though.

16. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

It all depends on the mood I’m in. Sometimes I want to just throw some shadow on for work. Other days I get all detailed with it.

17. Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?

I consider all of the tons of YouTube videos I watch as makeup classes. They have helped me learn a lot of new skills.

18. What do you love about makeup?

I’ve never been creative, like drawing or painting, but with makeup I feel super creative. I love the idea of creating different looks all with different products. It’s super fun and relaxing for me.

19. Dramatic or Natural makeup look?

This also depends on my mood. I sometimes prefer using a love doing a natural look, but often times I love to make a look that’s a statement look for the eyes.

20. Worst makeup related habit?

The worst makeup related habit that I have would definitely be not washing my makeup brushes as I should. I try to wash them about once a week, but sometimes it’s 3 weeks before I can get to them. As an excuse, I like to say that I do have a lot of brushes, so it’s hard to dirty them all up. Lol.

Well guys, that’s all for today. It’s time for me to go explore Atlanta!

It’s Time For a Review…Bh Cosmetics 15 pc Rose Gold Brush Set!

Hello Beauties!

It’s time for another review from my most recent Bh Cosmetics haul.

Hit that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON if you liked it! 🙂

I talked yesterday all about the Dark Rose Palette…Click HERE to Check it Out.

Today’s post is all about my newest brush set from Bh Cosmetics. This set was picked up for me during their new years. I specifically wanted this brush set because of all of the eye brushes. I’ve been trying to do more intricate details to my eye shadows, so this was a no brainer for me. Let’s first start off with the packaging…

Courtesty of bhcosmetics.com

All 15 of my brushes come in this ADORABLE brush roll. It has a slot for each of the brushes and it has this gorgeous rose gold clasp. This makes traveling SOO easy. The inside also has a flap, so that the bristles aren’t damaged.

Aren’t those brushes GORGEOUS?!? Bh Cosmetics brushes are on point when it comes to packaging. They are also extremely durable and sturdy. I’ve washed this brush set several times and I haven’t noticed any major issues. There was a little bit of shedding the first time I used these, but nothing substantial.  These two brushes are my absolute favorite…

The contour brush and the dupe for the Sigma E40. I love the light contour that this brush gives. It’s perfect for those days when you want a light contour. My second favorite has changed my eye shadow game completely. This brush is so fluffy and is perfect for adding that transition color in the crease. It looks very similar to the Sigma E40, which is much loved among the YouTube and Beauty Blog community. These two can actually be purchases separately, if your not looking to add a whole new brush set to your collection.

Overall, I love this brush set a lot! Bh Cosmetics brushes have quickly become my favorite and most inexpensive ones to use. If you’ve never purchased a brush set from them, then I would highly encourage you to pick up a set. They are usually always on sale, so it’s a great deal for the quality of brushes! What are some of your favorite makeup brushes??

January 2015 Ipsy: First Impressions!

January Ipsy

Hello Beauties!

My impression of this bag in one word….disappointed! I really loved the idea of Ipsy at first, but I’m slowly realizing that you simply get samples of all of the same types of brands. I’m guessing that I won’t be keeping this bag for much longer, but we will see. Maybe they will wow me this year!

Let’s get started on the products I received this month…

1. Pacifica Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow in Treasure

I may be one of the only ones, but I just can’t fall in love with the Pacifica brand. I know this brand has recently become very popular among lots of bloggers, but none of their products stay on my face. This eyeshadow was no exception. It went on so beautifully, but it didn’t last on eyes at all. Not a cute look…trust me.

2. Malin and Goetz Lip Balm

This is definitely an amazing lip balm. It is extremely nourishing to the lips. It reminds me a lot of my all time favorite..Carmex. The only thing that bothered me about receiving this product is the fact that I already have SOOO many lip balms. I don’t need a new one! 😦

3. Manna Sheer Glo

I’ve actually received this a couple of months a go in a bag. It doesn’t show up on my face at all. I’m tried using this on my lips too for some color and it quickly fades. It’s such a pretty color in the package, but it just doesn’t show up on me.

4. Eco Friendly Good Day Moisturizer

This is a very light moisturizer, which is perfect for the day time. However, I have been having a ridiculous breakout after trying this the past week. I haven’t changed any other things in my skin care, so I really think this is the cause of it. Let’s just say that I NO LONGER want any skincare products.

5. Hilkari Retractable Eyeliner in Storm

I love this color simply because it is a great grey color. I’m not always the biggest fan of putting on dark black on the lower lash line, so this is a great alternative. The only downside is that it is extremely hard to go on my eyes. It swatched beautifully, but it just didn’t last on my eyes.

I’m so sorry to be all depressing in this post. I’m just not impressed with it at all! Please let me know what you’ve thought of January Ipsy bag! If you’ve also already gotten of your ipsy, please let me know why.

Happy Friday!

My Top 5 ELF Makeup Brushes!

Makeup brushes are essential is making sure that all of your makeup goes on smoothly and where it’s intended to do. You definitely don’t won’t too wide of a blending brush when your trying to put the tiniest bit of makeup in your outer crease. Let’s not even begin to think about how important it is to have the right size blush brush. The 80’s blush style doesn’t need to come back…Please….

I love makeup, but I also have to work within my budget. I don’t have a lot of money right now to buy a set of sigma brushes, however, my ELF brushes are absolutely amazing! I really don’t think this line of cosmetics gets the credit that it deserves. I mean it offers GREAT products at EXTREMELY affordable prices. You just can’t beat that! Let’s dive in to my TOP 5 ELF BRUSHES!

1. Professional Blending Eye Brush

The brush has to be one of my favorite brushes of all time. This is actually the brush that helped me get over my slump of only using one eye shadow a day. This has the perfect size brush to fit right into your crease to get the perfect blended look. It can also easily be used to get just your outer crease, if you need it to. I’ve had this brush for at least a year now and it has held up extremely well. I haven’t had any shedding and it has withstood numerous brush cleanings.

2. Studio Complexion Brush

This brush is my holy grail brush! I would not know how to contour properly without this brush. The actual width of this brush makes contouring effortless. I always used to have to blend, blend again, and then blend some more…but NOT with this brush. It has streamlined my whole contouring process. It makes adding some color to my pale skin so much easier! I have also had this brush for about a year with no complaints at all of brush shedding.

3. Studio Blush Brush

This is my other contouring go to! I used only use this brush for blush, but now I’ve begun using it for my highlighter too. I have one for both blush and highlighter. It’s tapered at the tip, which makes it really easy to highlight right underneath the eyes. It’s very easy to get in corners and creases with this awesome tapered brush. I highly recommend it for those that have never highlighted there face before. It helps you keep the highlighter where you want it, without having your whole face shimmery.

4. Total Face Brush

This is the “big papa” of powder brushes in my opinion. This brush has a wide range of surface area that is perfect for applying face powder. I also how dense the bristles are on this brush. It makes buffing on the powder so much easier. This brush gives your face that airbrushed look without making it look too”cakey”.

5. Studio Eye Shadow Brush

If you want to pack on some eye shadow, then this is the perfect brush for you. This brush simply does what the name says. It’s a eye shadow brush, but it’s brush density really allows you to pack on the shadows easily. It doesn’t take long at all to build up a great color using this handy brush.

I would love for each of you to check out the ELF website for yourself. There are even more awesome products on there for those working on a budget. Check it out for yourself!

Happy Thursday!
