April Favorites!

Hello Beauties!

I hope that you are having an absolutely fabulous Wednesday. My Wednesday has been comical to say the least…check out the Instagram to see what happened.

I am back with another monthly favorites. This is my favorite post to do, but it’s also the hardest post I do. All of other blogger will probably know exactly what I’m talking about. The narrowing down process, some months, for me is sooooo very hard. This month was one of those months. I have fallen in love with so many things this month, so I will be breaking them up by categories. Let’s get started….

Makeup

The Naked 2 by Urban Decay has been my go to this month for eyeshadow. I’ve used it almost every single day. I know a lot of people bash on this palette or prefer the Naked 1 more, but I don’t at all. I love all the cool toned shadows in this palette. They are perfect for creating that everyday classic look. I highly recommend those to pick up this palette if you’re looking for a neutral, cool toned palette. You won’t be disappointed.

I did a big review and swatches of this AWESOME set that benefit put out during Christmas time. I’d forgotten all about it until this month. I use the hoola bronzer in this kit every single day. It’s perfect for super pale girls like me. It give a slight contour without being too much. I also use the Rocketeur blush everyday too. It’s a deep pink color that just adds a dusty rose flush to the cheeks.

This combination right here has been my absolute favorite combination all month long. It may even take the cake of my beloved Urban Decay Perversion (Gasp**). I hate the formula of the Better than Sex Mascara on it’s own, but this primer makes me want to marry this mascara. If you haven’t been that big of a fan of this mascara before, then I’d definitley try it with a primer underneath it.

My last makeup favorite of the month would of course have to be a lip product. I mean after all, it is Tay. I have been adoring the Nyx Lip Butter in Hunk. I received a couple of months ago in an Ipsy bag and have fallen in love with the formula. It may even be better than my Revlon Lip Butters and y’all know how much I LOVE those. The color really stains your lips, even after the glossy part of the lip butter is gone. I HIGHLY recommend you picking up a shade of the NYX Lip Butters.

Food

Blue Diamond Dark Chocolate Almonds, 30 oz

I’ve been trying to eat super healthy, but sometimes Mother Nature makes you crave all kinds of chocolate. These Almonds are absolutely delicious and will surely cure even the worst chocolate craving. I’ve been enjoying these as a great snack during “that time of the month”. It helps me maintain my healthy eating, but still lets me endulge a little.

Some of you are probably think I’m crazy, but I’m telling you that these with a little peanut butter are AMAZING! It’s a great afternoon snack without all the grease. Trust guys, you NEED to try these NOW!

Miscellaneous

The last thing that I’ve been obsessed with is my gel manicures. They have been lasting me about 3 weeks, which is really good for me. The don’t damage your nails at all. It’s my actual nails with just gel nail polish on top. I’d highly encourage this type of method for those that want their manicure to stay for a while without having to get acylics.

What have your favorites been for the month?? Be sure to let me know in the comments!

Tired of bad subscription boxes?!?

Hello Beauties!

I have a really exciting post for y’all. I was making up my nightly tea, when this idea came to me. After speaking with my favorite blogging friend, Katie of Plus+ Beauty, and some other close friends, I thought I’d pitch this idea to each of you.

After my last ipsy post, I’ve gotten the feeling that several of you have been let down by the subscription boxes. The comments received from that post have gotten my wheels turning and I think I’ve come up with an awesome solution.

Why don’t us beauty bloggers and beauty YouTubers have a swap of makeup between ourselves?  My idea is that you’d be paired up with a partner. You could keep the same partner or I could switch you up every single month. You could also both discuss the budget for each of you. I’ve looked into the shipping costs and it would be $5.95 for a small box within the U.S., which isn’t bad at all.

The beauty of this beauty blogger and YouTube swap is that each of us loves and thrives on getting beauty products. Each of us is also always sharing products we love and suggest others get. This beauty swap allows up to now show our beloved products with other bloggers. For example,  your partner has a love for red lipstick and  they can’t find the newest matte milani lipstick, but you have the whole range in your area. This way we get products that we enjoy, but we are also meeting and helping our fellow beauty bloggers and youtubers, too!

I think this would also be awesome to do for all of my UK bloggers. Maybe you want to try some American brand makeup, then let me know and I can set you up with someone that wants to try some UK brands. You could also swap with bloggers among the UK .

I would love your feedback on this idea. I’d also love your idea on a name for this swapping marathon. If you’d be interested in participating then please let me know down below! I hope y’all enjoy this idea as much as I do!

It’s time for a HAUL…Birthday Edition!!

My birthday may be over, but my presents are still here and going strong! I am so in love with all of the makeup that I got for my birthday. Let’s first start off with my gift from Sephora.

Isn’t this little box adorable?!? I’ve never really had the chance to try any products from the line “Makeup Forever”, so I really excited that this gift was given out. I got a sample size of the Mascara, ” Smoky Extravagant” and a lipstick in the color “Rouge Artist Natural N9.” I have tried the mascara and the brush reminds me quite a bit of the Physician’s Formula Mascara in the green tube. It does a good job of separating the lashes and giving a nice natural eye lash look. This lip color is a light wine color and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait to wear this color more in the fall.

I got these two items with a giftcard from one of my coworkers. These are some famous Too Faced products, Better than Sex Mascara and Chocolate Soliel Bronzer.  I got both of these for the price of the mascara alone.  Check out my earlier first impression of the mascara. As for the bronzer….I’m addicted to the whole smell of it. Oh how I love the chocolate scent!

I actually bought both of these presents for myself. I wanted to spoil myself with a new palette and some new brushes. You probably already know how obsessed I am with the Lorac Pro 2…it’s AMAZING! I’m also really enjoying playing with these brushes as well. I want to play with them a little more, but there is definitely a full review coming on these brushes.

I hope you enjoyed my birthday haul! What are y’all looking forward to on your birthday?? What do you think your next big makeup purchase will be?? Let me know in the comments below.

First Impressions…Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced

I was able to pick up this mascara on Sunday. It was a really good deal. I got a full size and a small Chocolate Soilel Bronzer for $23. This is actually the first high end mascara that I’ve ever purchased. I gotta be honest…I only bought the mascara so I could try the bronzer. Since I did get it though, I figured that I could at least do a first impressions post of y’all. So here it goes.

Better than Sex Mascara

As you can see, there is a lot of product that comes off on the brush. I had to scrape a lot of the excess product off of the brush in order to actually be able to use it. The formula was also extremely wet. My lashes don’t usually take too kindly to wet formula mascaras, but if yours do then this mascara will rock your socks. I will say the favorite thing about this product was the hourglass brush. I think it’s quite unique. I still want to play around with this mascara, especially as it begins to dry out.

Well there you have. My first impression of the Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced. I’d love for you to leave a comment below with any other products you’d like to see my first impressions. Thanks again!
