Amazing Finds from BH Cosmetics!

IMG_2625

Raise your hand if your makeup is struggling from this CRAZY summer heat! I know that mine is without a doubt. I’ve been trying new products like crazy to combat this heat. Lucky for me, I’ve got amazing friends that tell me about great products and of course I share that knowledge with all of you.

Let me start by saying that I have very oily skin that is extremely sensitive. I also tend to have extremely dark circles under my eyes, so if I say I like a concealer then you know it’s amazing.

I’m going to start by talking about the concealer, which I only bought due to the buy one get one 50% off that Ulta has last week. This concealer is rather thick consistency wise and I’m not the biggest fan of the applicator. However, I’ve been using this concealer for 4 days straight now in this crazy Alabama heat without absolutely no creasing.  I will say that it was a little hard to blend out with a brush or a dampened beauty blender, but the coverage is incredible. Overall, I would give this concealer a 5 out of 5!

Next let’s discuss the awesomeness of this setting spray. My friend tried on her hand at the store and noticed the difference it made on her hand, so she decided to buy it. A couple of days later, I get a phone call telling me how essential it is that I try this setting spray out for myself. Guys, this stuff is AMAZING! It makes my makeup last all day long without any issues. The only problem I have had with this spray is that the sprayer doesn’t always spray evenly. Other than that, I would give this setting spray a 5 out of 5 too!

I highly suggest you check out both of these items and let me know if you love them too! Also, don’t forget about the AMAZING buy one, get one 50% going on right now at Ulta. Check out the concealer by clicking here and the setting spray by clicking here!

Is Nivea Men Shave Balm Worth the Hype?

Unless you live under a rock, then you’ve probably heard all about the newest obsession on YouTube…Nivea Men’s Shave Balm. It seemed odd to me at first too, so don’t worry you’re not alone in that aspect. It originally become popular from the fabulous Nikkie Tutorials raving about this as a great inexpensive alternative to some high end primers. Since then, it’s become extremely popular amongst a LOT of beauty addicts. I was originally too chicken to try this primer out for myself, because my skin is EXTREMELY sensitive. However, I had some personal friends of mine persuade me to simply give it a try, with it’s low price tag of $5.59. I’m here to say that I’ve put it to the official Tay’s Testing and have formulated my thoughts on this “hyped up” product.

I’d love to know your thoughts and opinions on this shave balm as a primer. Do you think it’s worth the hype?

Thanks for reading!

Lovatics Palette: Love it or Hate?

The drugstore palette market has exploded in the past year. Maybelline, Revlon, L’Oreal, Covergirl, and now NYC have all put out their own version of neutral shades. I’ve tried 3 of those palettes now and I must say that I haven’t been impressed with any of them. Once you have eyeshadows like Lorac and Urban Decay, you’re quality level sky rockets. It is such a task for me to actually have to work with shadows nowadays, because my high end palettes are so effortless. However, I am still a curious makeup junkie so I had to of course try this palette out too.

Lovatics Open Palette

Upon picking up this palette, I immediately noticed how metallic some of the shades in the palette appeared. This made me actually have some hope for this Lovatics Palette . This palette has 12 shades; 5 of those shades are matte, 4 of them are ultra metallic, 3 of them contain shimmer that isn’t detectable upon application. Two double ended sponge tip applicators come with this palette as well.  The packaging on this is very cheap, but it was only $6.99,  so I ain’t complaining too much.

Lovatics Back Cover

The back cover of this palette is very similar to Maybelline and L’Oreal’s Palettes. It gives you 3 different combinations to use in order to achieve a certain look, whether it be neutral or glam. I think this panel would be very useful for a makeup newbie or even a young teen looking for some makeup help. This could have definitely been my saving grace during my makeup illiterate phase of my life.

The metallic shades are my absolute favorite in this palette for sure. Some of the mattes are a little more patchy than I’d like, but they are workable. The mattes are also EXTREMELY soft and buttery. This can sometimes hurt you in the long run if you’re an avid blender like myself.  The shadows that have shimmer that isn’t detectable when swatched were very hard to use for me. They didn’t blend well at all. However, once applied, these shadows stayed on me eyes for 6 + hours with out creasing a bit. I would definitely use a primer, because it does help these shadows look a little more vibrant, but I was extremely impressed with the staying power with or without a primer.

Lovatics Swatches

Overall, I really do LOVE this palette. It has been super fun to play with and try new combinations. I love the neat way it breaks the palette down by the look you want to achieve on the back. I also really enjoy how long these shadows last on my lid. If you’re a makeup junkie, then you’ll love having this palette in your collection. This is definitely my favorite drugstore palette at the moment for sure. Hopefully other drugstore companies will step up their eyeshadow game. I’ll be picking up the the covergirl palette up next, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the blog.

First Impressions: Freeman Sparkling Pear Pore Cleansing Mask

My pores have been large and in charge for the past several weeks. I’ve been searching high and low for the product that will help me shrink my pores. The pore cleansing title of this mask immediately caught my eye due to my large pore woes.

Freeman Sparkling Pear Pore Cleansing Mask

The mask’s texture is whipped, which feels exceptionally light on the skin. It’s sparkling pear, so you can imagine that it has a light green tint to the mask itself. The mask creates an AMAZING cooling effect on your skin upon application of it. Within the first few minutes, you can feel it tightening your pores. I left mine on for 1o minutes to make sure the mask was completely dry on my face.

FullSizeRender 2

It left my skin feeling very moisturized and refreshed. My redness also seemed a little less prominent after using this mask. Those pesky pores also got smaller  in size, which makes Tay a very happy girl! I must say that I absolutely loved using this mask. It was such a nice refreshing experience. I will DEFINITELY be purchasing a full size of this mask in the near future.

What is your favorite Freeman Mask? Let me know in the comments down below!

It’s Time for a Review: NYX Liquid Suede Lip Creams

Hello Beauties!

I am sorry for the lack of posts this week, but I’ve been a little under the weather. Luckily, I’m feeling a lot better today, so I wanted to share with you a review of a new lip product that just came out from NYX. I picked these up a couple of weeks ago on a lipstick buying spree. They are the NYX Liquid Suede Lip Creams and I am absolutely in love with them.

NYX Liquid Suede Lip Creams

The two colors I purchased are Tea and Cookies and Cherry Skies. Here’s a look at these two lipsticks…

NYX Liquid Suede Lip Cream Swatches

I absolutely adore these NYX Liquid Suede lip creams. The formula on these is a lot different than the soft matte lip cream lipsticks. They last longer and feel a lot more comfortable on the lips. It takes them a few seconds to dry on the lips just like a lot of other lip creams. The best part of these suede lip creams is the lack of transfer off the lips. I also really enjoy the packaging on these as well. The lip cream comes in a circular tube with a black jewel on top. The applicator isn’t your typical doe foot applicator, but instead it’s a flat applicator. This can make it a little more tricky with application, so heed with caution. I didn’t notice any feathering from the lip line or movement of product on the lips.

I would highly encourage you to check out these awesome lip products, especially with the sale that’s going on at Ulta right now. All Nyx products are buy 2, get 1 free plus add the $3.50 off $10 and you’ve got one heck of a deal! I can’t wait to buy more of the awesome lipsticks. If you’ve tried these lippies, then let me know down below your thoughts on them!!

I will have a full swatch video on this palette coming out on Friday, but I wanted to give you a little sneak peak until then.

I’ve been obsessed with cranberry eyes and green eyes, which obviously led to this being one of my first looks with this palette. Let’s dive into my look…
