Hauls

Mini Drugstore Haul!

Hello Beauties!

Payday means two things to me…Starbucks and new makeup. Its my little treat to myself each time I get a paycheck. This time was no different. Originally, I was going to pick up a holiday set, but I was just so indecisive on what to choose. After arguing with myself for a few days, I finally decided to take advantage of the sale going on at Target. If you spend $20 on any Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare products, then you get a $5 coupon when you text BEAUTY5 to 827438. This sale is thought 9/19, so be sure to take advantage before Sunday.

I will probably go back again, because I have a couple of NEW mascaras that I want to purchase. I have a major addiction to mascaras here lately and I have no shame about it! Lol. Let’s check out what I got this round though…

IMG_1088

My favorite purchase of this haul has to be these 3 L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows. I’ve been eyeing these 3 for quite a long time now, so I’m glad that I can finally add these to my collection. Here’s some up close swatches of them

L'Oreal Infalible Shadows

These few 3 beauties have been on my radar for quite a while now. I’ve picked them up several times and then reluctantly put them back. I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase them with this sale and I AM SOOO EXCITED I DID! I’ve officially used all 3 colors as of today and I am in love! The colors are Glistening Garnet, Golden Emerald, and Endless Sea. Be sure to check out the blog on Monday to see the look I created with the glistening garnet shade. It’s absolutely beautiful!

The NYX Matte setting spray is another item that I’ve picked up many a times and put it back. I’ve been using it for a few days and I must say that I’m quite impressed. I’ll have a full review coming soon on my blog for sure.

If you follow me on Snapchat (taylorholley10) or Instagram (tayslifeunscripted), then you know that I’m a COMPLETELY addicted to the Starbucks Pumpkin Latte. Unfortunately, my budget can’t afford my addiction, so I’ve been on the hunt for the next best inexpensive thing. These K-Cups are exactly a Starbucks drink, but they are pretty dang good if I do say so myself. These were on sale for $9.99 for a pack of 18

The last item I purchased from Target was the Revlon Gel Envy set. I’ve been eyeing all of the drugstore gel kits that have come out recently. I was very happy to find this set on clearance for $4.48. I will have a full review of this nail kit coming soon too!

I may have driven 30 minutes just to hunt down this contour palette and I have no shame about it. None of the Walmart stores in my area still carry Wet N’ Wild in the store, so I had to get creative in hurting this beauty down. I am so excited that I finally found it though. It’s perfect for my pale skin.

What makeup items have you picked up lately?!?

Until Next Time…

Top 5 Easy, Effortless Lippies!

Happy Wednesday Beauties!

I hope your week is going fabulous so far! If not, then be sure to keep reading this post. It will help streamline your hectic mornings for sure. We’ve all had those lip products that have bled out of the line, taken us 10 minutes to apply them perfectly, or just got all over our face while we were eating/drinking. It’s the worst thing if you really need to look on point that day for a job or school project. I’ve fallen victim to the messy lippie entirely too much, so I can sympathize with all of you. I want to share my favorite lipsticks to wear when you need something for your lips, but you don’t want to be fussing and checking it all day long. Let’s get started!

Easy, Effortless Lippies

I won’t be going in depth into the colors of these lippies. It’s more about their formula and ease that makes them so easy to use that I’ll be referring too.

1. Wet N’ Wild Lipstick

I love their new formula of their $0.99 lippies. I tried to look up the official name of them up online, but I found nothing. Sorry folks. Epic blogger fail. These lippies are so effortless to glide on the lips. They also last for quite a long time on your lips. The initial shine of them will wear off really quick, but they have a staining formula so this will easily last you through the majority of your day.

2. Revlon Lip Butters

It’s no secret that these are on of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE formulas on the planet. They glide on easily and stay put. You definitely don’t have to worry about these lippies moving around on you. The pigmentation on these is also super great considering the glossy nature of these. If you’re just starting out with lipsticks, then I’d highly encourage you to give these a try. They are AMAZING!!

3. NYX Lip Butters

These are a recent finding of mine. I received this lip butter in my Ipsy bag a few months ago. Since then, I’ve fallen head over heels for this formula. It has great pigmentation, stays in place, and stains your lips for hours. I can put this on at 8 am and I won’t have to touch it up at all until maybe 3 or 4pm. I could go longer if I wanted to, but sometimes I want the glossy top coat back. Lol.

4. Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks

I did a full review of this lipstick the other day, so I’ll leave you the link HERE! The best things about this lipsticks is the way they wear off your lips. They don’t wear off patchy like most lipsticks. They also have a staining formula to these as well.

5. Milani Lipsticks

I fell in love with Milani lipsticks this past fall. They were the only thing I’d wear on my lips for MONTHS! These last for sooo long on your lips! These are another one of those that doesn’t wear off patchy on your lips. It doesn’t usually leaved my lips stained though, which is a negative. I simply included this in here because of the way that it wears off on the lips.

I hope you all enjoyed reading all about my easy, effortless lippies. What are some of your favorites?? Be sure to let me down below. As always, thanks for reading!

June Empties!

Hello Beauties!

I hope you are all having a AWESOME Saturday night! If you’re kinda bored like me, then head on over to my YouTube channel and watch my latest video. It’s an overview of all the products I’ve used up in June. There’s a LOT of them! I fly through them pretty fast though, so I promise not to bore you to death. Also, I have a witty little diddy that I came up with in the intro. It’s corny and it took me 30 minutes to come up with….lame I know. Lol.

Essence Longwearing Lipstick Review and Gel Eyeliner Pencil Review!

Happy Tuesday Beauties!

It’s no secret that I absolutely love inexpensive makeup, especially lipstick colors and eyeliners. I consider both of these products essentials for my everyday look, so I’m always on the look out for inexpensive products. I’ve heard a lot of raving reviews on the Essence line of products, so I of course had to put them to the test myself.

Essence Review

I purchased…

– Longlasting Lipstick in Very Berries

– Gel Eye Pencil in Black Blaze

– Gel Eye Pencil in Cocoa Bean

Let’s first start off with the lipstick.

Essence very Berries lispticks

First, can we just say how PERFECT this color is?!? It says it’s a berry shade, but I think it’s the perfect mixture between your standard Berry Shade and a Pink. It’s absolutely perfect for a “your lips, but better” color. The formula for this lipstick is amazing too! It’s super moisturizing and glides on your lips perfectly. It wears off well too, so you don’t have to worry about it being patchy. The shine of this lipstick usually wears off quite easily with eating or drinking but overall the color remains for a long time. The best part is that this lipstick in only $2.99!!! It’s just as inexpensive as my beloved Wet N’ Wild, so I’m very happy!

Now let’s talk about the gel eyeliner pencils…

Essence Gel Eyeliner Pencils

I don’t like bashing products, but these eyeliners just didn’t work for me. First of all, the application of the product just didn’t work. The way this product works is you twist up the eyeliner in order to put in on. This usually works for me with most twist up eyeliners, but this one is too wide around the tip. I kept accidently running that hard plastic part across my eyelid. It also claimed to be waterproof, which was not true. I always ended up looking like a Panda by the end of the day. It didn’t matter if I was outside the whole time or if I just stayed inside. The pigmentation was great, but product application and staying power just killed it for me.

What products have you tried from Essence?? What do you think I should try next?!? Let me know down below!

Le Volume De Chanel Mascara Review!

Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Mascara

Hello Beauties!

I have a super fun review for today! I recently went on a road trip with a friend of mine to the biggest mall in Alabama. Okay, so it may not be the biggest mall, but if you’re from Alabama then you know that the Galleria is HUGE! It’s also the place to go for all of your shopping needs. 9 times out of 10, you’ll definitely find a lot of goodies at this mall. I was diligent in my restraint on buying items while I visited; however, I picked up quite a few samples. This beautiful mascara was one of those samples. I’ve never had anything Chanel in my life, so I definitely thought I’d hit the big leagues when I stumbled across this beauty. Even the packaging on a sample is PERFECT!!

Let’s first start off with the formula of this mascara. It’s a very wet formula, but I don’t have major issues of clumping with it. It builds amazing volume as the names suggests. It takes my short stubby lashes and makes them look long and luscious. The brush with this mascara is your typical bristle brush. It reminds me a lot of my Urban Decay Perversion brush. The major flaw I saw with this mascara is that it takes a minute for it to dry. I often fell victim to transfer on my brow bone right after I applied the mascara.

Overall, I really love this mascara, but the price tag is just a little too steep for my budget. I could definitely see myself purchasing this when Belk does their highend mascara sale, but until then I’ll be sticking to my drugstore favorites!

What is your favorite high-end mascara?? Let me know down below!

It’s Time for a Review…Makeup Forever Mattifying Primer !

Hello Beauties!

I have an awesome review for all of you today. After my LONNNNNNNNNG spout of not trying any new products, I finally tried a something new. I’ve been on the hunt for a new primer for quite a while now. My skin is always the the slickest during the humid, summer months of Alabama. I love my PoreFessional by Benefit, but it doesn’t help with the oil production on my face. After seeing all of the brand new primers come out from Makeup Forever, I thought I’d give their new Mattifying Primer a try. I picked up a couple of samples at Sephora before taking the huge $36 plunge for the full size. I am so glad that I did.

I don’t like this product in the slightest. It doesn’t keep my face looking matte at all. The formula of this primer also makes my skin feel EXTREMELY tight after the application. The first couple of times I tried it, I kept thinking that makeup the girl at Sephora put a mask in the container instead of the primer. After 3 separate samples later, I confirmed that it was indeed this primer. This primer is a definite pass in my book.

Have you tried any of the 10 primers that was recently released from Makeup Forever?? Let me know down below!

Monthly Favorites, Uncategorized

April Favorites!

Hello Beauties!

I hope that you are having an absolutely fabulous Wednesday. My Wednesday has been comical to say the least…check out the Instagram to see what happened.

I am back with another monthly favorites. This is my favorite post to do, but it’s also the hardest post I do. All of other blogger will probably know exactly what I’m talking about. The narrowing down process, some months, for me is sooooo very hard. This month was one of those months. I have fallen in love with so many things this month, so I will be breaking them up by categories. Let’s get started….

Makeup

The Naked 2 by Urban Decay has been my go to this month for eyeshadow. I’ve used it almost every single day. I know a lot of people bash on this palette or prefer the Naked 1 more, but I don’t at all. I love all the cool toned shadows in this palette. They are perfect for creating that everyday classic look. I highly recommend those to pick up this palette if you’re looking for a neutral, cool toned palette. You won’t be disappointed.

I did a big review and swatches of this AWESOME set that benefit put out during Christmas time. I’d forgotten all about it until this month. I use the hoola bronzer in this kit every single day. It’s perfect for super pale girls like me. It give a slight contour without being too much. I also use the Rocketeur blush everyday too. It’s a deep pink color that just adds a dusty rose flush to the cheeks.

This combination right here has been my absolute favorite combination all month long. It may even take the cake of my beloved Urban Decay Perversion (Gasp**). I hate the formula of the Better than Sex Mascara on it’s own, but this primer makes me want to marry this mascara. If you haven’t been that big of a fan of this mascara before, then I’d definitley try it with a primer underneath it.

My last makeup favorite of the month would of course have to be a lip product. I mean after all, it is Tay. I have been adoring the Nyx Lip Butter in Hunk. I received a couple of months ago in an Ipsy bag and have fallen in love with the formula. It may even be better than my Revlon Lip Butters and y’all know how much I LOVE those. The color really stains your lips, even after the glossy part of the lip butter is gone. I HIGHLY recommend you picking up a shade of the NYX Lip Butters.

Food

Blue Diamond Dark Chocolate Almonds, 30 oz

I’ve been trying to eat super healthy, but sometimes Mother Nature makes you crave all kinds of chocolate. These Almonds are absolutely delicious and will surely cure even the worst chocolate craving. I’ve been enjoying these as a great snack during “that time of the month”. It helps me maintain my healthy eating, but still lets me endulge a little.

Quaker Caramel Corn Rice Cakes, 6.56 oz

Some of you are probably think I’m crazy, but I’m telling you that these with a little peanut butter are AMAZING! It’s a great afternoon snack without all the grease. Trust guys, you NEED to try these NOW!

Miscellaneous

The last thing that I’ve been obsessed with is my gel manicures. They have been lasting me about 3 weeks, which is really good for me. The don’t damage your nails at all. It’s my actual nails with just gel nail polish on top. I’d highly encourage this type of method for those that want their manicure to stay for a while without having to get acylics.

What have your favorites been for the month?? Be sure to let me know in the comments!

L’Oreal Infallible Foundation Review| Collab with Classic and Crippled!

Happy Monday Beauties!

Displaying photo.JPG

I have a brand new foundation review with each of you! The best part about this review is that it’s a collab with my dear friend Isabel from Classic and Crippled. If you’ve never heard of her blog before, then I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to drop by tell her hello!!

We’ve decided to bring you the best of both worlds with this review. Isabel will be discussing her pros and cons from the dry skin point of view using a beauty blender. I will be discussing my pros and cons from the combo/oily skin point of view using a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Be sure to check out her post here!

I’d like to start off this review by saying that I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!!

Let’s first start off with my pros for this foundation. It’s not your typical matte foundation. It’s a demi matte, meaning it doesn’t make your face look completely flat. Some people may really enjoy the matte look, but it’s so monotonous to me. It’s nice to find a foundation that maintains oil control, but also makes me face look alive, unlike most matte foundations. It’s definitely a medium coverage foundation. It can be built up to cover certain problem areas, but always heed caution when piling out mounds of matte foundation in one area. The consistency is just right too…not too liquidy, but not too dry either.

This foundation blends into the skin so seamlessly with my real techniques expert face brush. I also tried it with my Bh Cosmetics Sculpt and Blend brushes and it blended in amazing! The staying power with this foundation is great too! I went probably 6 hours before any sort of shine came through, which is a record in my book! Lol. The squeeze packaging is a FAVORITE too! My complaint with bottles is the large amount of unused product that you can never get out of the bottle. This squeeze packaging eliminates this dilemma entirely.

Now let’s talk about the things that I wasn’t a huge fan of with this foundation.

The first thing that really deterred me from purchasing this product was the price tag. This one usually retails anywhere from $11 -$14. It took me a second to get offer the sticker shock of that price tag. The prices of drugstore foundation keep going up and up! The other thing that really bothered me about this foundation is the limited shade selection. It only has 12 different shades that really jump in undertones really strangely. I may be the only one bothered by this, but I expected a better shade range from a company that also offers 33 different shades in varying undertones in the True Match line.

Other than those two things, I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION! It’s different than anything else in the drugstore in my opinion. If you have combo/oily skin, then this is a great foundation to help you maintain the oil on your face. Be sure to stop by Classic and Crippled to see how this foundation works for those with dry skin!

Have you tried this foundation? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
