What Does your Hair Say about You?

Good Evening Beauties!

I recently just stumbled upon Madison-Reed , a hair company that has at home hair dye that is healthier!   I thought it’d be fun to break down the typical stereotypes of “blondes have more fun” or “brunettes are more serious” and express what my hair truly says about my personality.

As you’ve seen in a lot of my pictures, I have HORRIBLE roots. The two tone nature of my hair is very much similar to the old me and the new me. The “old me” was so self-conscious, introverted, depressed, and overly sensitive. The “old me” is not a time that I like to talk or even think about. It still saddens me to this day. I never took advantage of so many friendships or adventures, because I was too scared. I had always let so many people affect the old me that I had easily become discolored much like my once highlighted hair. I don’t blame anyone else for hiding me away. I can only blame myself. I took myself out of the game of life, because in my mind I was already losing.

The “new me” is slowly emerging every day, just like my roots. I’ve become such a confident adventurer. I am willing to try just about everything, even if it is a failure. I’ve come to realize that learning from those failures is so much better than being naïve about the world in general. I have also realized to be “selfish” about me. Sometimes you just need to take yourself to the nail salon or buy that makeup item. Sometimes you just need to look in the mirror and see the beauty that everyone else sees. Trust me, I still have moments when the “old me” starts to creep back in my mind. It’s a daily struggle for me, but I’m willing to fight and overcome that “old me” every day if I have to.

It’s quite a coincidence that I was asked to write on this topic at the cusp of a huge change for me. If you are one of those that is struggling with their “old me” just know that you’re not alone. I told you in the New Year that I was going to be selfish for me this year. I’ve learned more about myself in the past 5 months than I have in all my years on the earth.

I would love to see what your hair says about your personality. It may be super simple or may have more depth than you think it does. Also, be sure to check out https://www.madison-reed.com/. If you have a hard time choosing a hair color in the drugstores, then I would highly encourage you to check their hair color section. They of course ask about your current hair color, but they also ask about your skin tone.

Happy Tuesday!

Makeup Reviews, Reviews

It’s Time for a Review…Bh Cosmetics Dark Rose Palette!

Hello Beauties!

Courtesy of Bhcosmetics.com

I have a three day review series coming your way. Each day I’ll be reviewing a product from my Bh Cosmetics haul. I’ll link the video down below, so that you’ll know what to be looking out for.

Today’s post is going to be all about the Dark Rose palette. I wanted to purchase this palette, so that I could try out several different products from the Bh Cosmetic line. This palette includes 12 eye shadows, 3 blushes, and 1 liquid eye liner pen.

Let’s first talk about the eye shadows. The shadows in this palette are very hit and miss for me. I’ve tried them without a primer and I had no payoff at all. They showed up a little better with the primer, but still not the quality that I was expecting. I will say that the matte shadows, which there are 3, did show up a lot better than the shimmer ones did. Another downside to this palette is the lack of transition colors. This palette is definitely not one to take if you can only take one. It has gorgeous jewel tone colors, but nothing to buff them out with. Overall, the shadows in this palette aren’t my favorite quality.

Now let’s talk about the blushes. Unlike the shadows, I was VERY impressed with the quality of these blushes. My favorite is the bright pink one in the middle. It’s absolutely beautiful and it’s matte. The other two have sheen to them, but they aren’t overly shiny either. I’m definitely going to be trying out their blush palettes in the near future.

Lastly, let’s talk about their liquid eye liner pen. I LOVE THIS LIQUID EYE LINER PEN!! Sorry for yelling, but it needed to be said. It’s a felt tip eye liner pen, so it’s great for those that aren’t as great with the liquid eye liners. It gives off an absolutely gorgeous matte black line. It reminds me a lot of my Kat Von D eye liner in trooper. I would definitely consider it a dupe for that product. If you are looking for a new eye liner pen, then I CAN’T SUGGEST THIS ENOUGH!!

Be sure to stay tuned tomorrow for my review of my new Bh Cosmetics Brush set!

Tay’s Favorite Dry Lip Friendly Lipsticks!

We recently had a huge cold streak and it has seriously made my lips wacky. I’ve been exfoliating every day and I still have dry patches on my lips. Since the horrid dry patches have formed, I have been on the hunt for some moisturizing yet pigmented lip colors. Here’s a few of my favorites that I’ve found…

Revlon Lip Butters

I’ve talked about these AMAZING products so much, but I’ve got to mention these for this list of winter friendly lips. These lip butters are super moisturizing. They are also really pigmented with great staying power. These honesly feel like a tinted lip balm, but with the pigmentation of a lipstick. These are definitely a must for those winter lips!

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks

These are new to me. I’ve always been a user of their matte lipsticks, so I naturally went towards their line when searching for a moisturizing one. These lipsticks are so moisturizing and creamy. They don’t cling to any dry spots on your lips at all. They are quickly becoming some of my new favorites. My favorite shades are Hero and Tea Rose! Go get this lip products now!

What are some of your favorite winter friendly lip products?!? Let me know down below!

Happy Thursday!
