Hauls

Ulta Haul!

Hello Beauties!

I wanted to share with all of you a little Ulta haul from the NYX buy 2, get 1 free sale at Ulta. Let’s dive into my goodies!!

Ulta Haul

The first item I purchased is the Rich and Foamous body wash from Soap and Glory. It smells absolutely delicious and lingers on my skin for quite a long time. The scent reminds me of the Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar. It’s the perfect scent for this time of the year!

The next things I purchases where eye and lip pencils from NYX!

NYX Lip and Eye Pencils

I’ve been needing another black and brown, so this was the perfect sale to pick these up. The purple was just a little bit of pizazz to spice up my eyeliner collection.

The other 3 lip liner pencils are more of a trial run for me. I have been wanting to strike out and try lip pencils for quite some time now. Some lip products in my collection have been feathering outside my lip line, so I decided to give the whole lip liner thing a try!

If you’ve tried any of these products before, then please let me know your thoughts on them down below.

Until Next Time…

Makeup Essentials for Business Trips!

Hello Beauties!

I hope you are all having a fabulous Tuesday. I myself will probably be worn slap out as your reading this. I’m traveling to my corporate office today for a little training session tomorrow. It’s about a 4 hour trip from where I live, so I’ll be staying the night and riding home Wednesday night after the training session is over. It’s always hard to pack makeup, but it’s particularly hard, when you’re really trying to impress the big wigs. I think I’ve packed items that will help me achieve the chic and sophisticated look that is essential in the majority of work places.

Face

I’ve been going between two primers recently and have really found the best way to maintain my makeup throughout the day. The first primer I start off with is the Maybelline Master Primer that smoothes out the textures of your face. It doesn’t really smooth out any textures for me. I simply use this because it creates a tacky base for my foundation to really cling and stay in place. The next primer I use is my Benefit Porefessional. This primer only goes in my T-zone area, but it is a must have for me. It helps cover up all of my ENORMOUS pores. My favorite foundation at the moment is the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation that just recently came out. It has amazing staying power on my face, but doesn’t make my face look flat like a lot of matte foundations tend to do. You can probably guess what I go to next…my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This powder has literally changed my life! It puts my oily skin its place on the daily and I thank it for that.

Contouring gives my chubby cheeks life. You may think I’m being dramatic, but trust me it makes my cheeks have shape and not just a round blob. The best thing to carry with for traveling is my Bh Cosmetics Forever Nude Sculpt and Contour Palette. It has a contour, bronzer, setting powder, highlighter, and a blush all in one. I’ll be taking a separate blush by Jordana, but that’s simply because I like my blush and lipstick to match. Am I the only one?

Eyes

The eyes are the windows to your soul, or at least that’s what I’ve been told. Lol. I love a good smoky eye in the work place. It’s so beautiful and chic. It also matches extremely well to pant suits and dress suits. Lol. My go to eye look has been using my ELF smudge pot in Cruisin’ Chic topped with the matte black in the Lorac Pro 2 in the crease. It lasts so long and it’s SOOOO easy, which is important when you’re losing an hour of sleep. I finish of the eye look with my Urban Decay Eyeliner in Perversion and my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes and Lights, Camera, Flahses mascaras.

Lips

I only have one lipstick pictured, but I also have like  in my purse makeup bag to choose from. I think I will probably end up going with the NYX Lip Butter in Hunk, which I got in my March Ipsy. I wore it for the first time on Sunday and I was pretty impressed with it. The initial color wore off pretty fast, but it left a GORGEOUS stain on my lips.  This will be great, because I know I won’t have a lot of time to touch up between seminars.

What are some of your work essentials? I’d love to know what they are. Please let me know in the comments down below. Also, wish me luck with impressing the “big wigs”. Don’t forget to follow my social media sites. I promise to get better at posting on those.

It’s Time for a Review…NYX Two Timer Eyeliner!

review cover

My eyeliner collection is growing by leaps and bounds, especially my liquid eyeliner collection. The only bad part about most liquid eyeliners is that you then have to go back with another eyeliner or eye shadow for your lower lash line. This has actually made me not want to wear liquid liner some days, because I do have this extra step.

This eyeliner seemed like the perfect answer to my conundrum. One of these ends is a felt tip liquid liner and the other end is kohl pencil liner. Here’s a picture of what it looks like.

NYX Two Timer

NYX Two Timer Felt Tip NYX Two Timer Kohl Liner

The packaging of this product is absolutely amazing! It allows you to only use product for both top and bottom lash lines. The intensity of black in this product is out of this world. The price tag is also amazing. You are basically getting two eyeliners for $10.00, which isn’t bad at all.

The downside to this awesome concept is the staying power.  I’ve tried it during the hot, humid southern summers and I’ve also tried it during the fall time. I still have the same issue either way. It’s almost as if the liquid liner never officially sets. I always seem to get the panda eye effect with this eyeliner. My wing will never stay, but instead will bleed into my crease area. Trust me, it isn’t cute at all.

I wanted to LOVE this product so bad. Trust me, I tried desperately to love it, but it just didn’t work for me.

Have any of you tried this eyeliner? Let me know down below!

Don’t Let Liquid Eyeliner Blues Get You Down!

After trying for years to master the use of liquid eyeliner, I decided that I’d share with you some of the tips that I learned through my struggle with learning how to properly do it. Let’s get the tips a rollin’ …

  • Practice…Practice…Practice
    • If you’re anything like me, then you had to try time and time again to try and get this right. I even got frustrated a few times and just stopped trying all together. Just keep in mind that your first time applying this won’t be perfect. After all, it is a liquid and not a cream crayon. It takes a little time to adjust getting used to.
  • Slow Down
    • The slower you apply this liner…the better it will turn out. Even if you have to apply it in small strokes, then so be it. It doesn’t matter how you put in on, it just matters that it’s on right. Haha. When achieving the cat eye, it is particularly important that you take it slow.
  • Felt tips are the best to start off with
    • Felt tip liners allow you to truly adjust to the precision that is required of a liquid product. The liquid liners that have a brush tend to have too much product on it and the brush isn’t stiff, so I can easily get out of hand. The felt tip liner also makes it easier to have a thin line and slowly build it to a thicker line.

I hope that these tips have been useful to you. I mentioned in a previous post that I personally loved using the Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner Pen. It has a stiff tip that is perfect for beginners. I would highly suggest this liner.

What are some of your tips for learning to use liquid liners?? What are some of your favorite start off eyeliners??

Happy Sunday!

Review: The Physician’s Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done a review on here, so I thought it was time for one. If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that I recently learned how to put on liquid eyeliner and it not go everywhere. I’ve been watching several of my YouTubers that swear by this liquid eye pen. Everyone says it’s the easiest way to learn how to put on liquid liner and I must agree.

Physcians Formula Eye Liner Pen

As the picture says, I have deemed this the beginners pen. Let’s get into my reasons why…

– Felt tip pen

– The pen tip isn’t very flexible, so it’s very easily controlled.

– Extremely black

-Lasts for at least 10 hours with no smudges

– The tip is very fine, but it can easily be built up to a thicker line

-It takes a second for it to dry allowing you to clean the lines of the loved “cat eye” look

PF Eye Liner Tip

I cannot not more highly suggest this eyeliner pen to people. It really is the perfect pen to use for those that love the look of liquid liner, but can’t seem to get the control of it. The price for it isn’t that bad either at $9 -11.

What are your favorite liquid eyeliners? I’ve learned the brush just doesn’t work for me, but I’m open to other pen suggestions.

Happy Thursday!
